Welcome to My Story
I’ve always believed in the power of the stories that shape us–the roots that steady us, the hands that guide us, and the quiet moments that teach us to notice life’s small wonders. My memoir, Memories on Mill Creek is my love letter to the people and places that shaped me. I invite you to pause, reflect, and rediscover the beauty in your own journey–and perhaps feel inspired to share your own unique story.
Hi, I’m Kristi Haynes a storyteller, speaker and trainer who believes deeply in the power of nature, family, and the quiet wisdom woven into our everyday lives. My inspiration flows from the banks of Mill Creek, where our family cabin is nestled in the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon–a place where life slows down, perspective sharpens, and the beauty of simple moments become the ones we treasure most. Whether I’m speaking to a large audience or gathered with a small group, I strive to bring warmth, authenticity, and humor into every conversation, creating spaces for reflection and true connection.
Over the years, it has been my privilege to share my stories and insights at events, retreats, and workshops. I invite my audience to pause, listen, and take in the quiet wisdom that nature and life offer. Whether it’s a keynote presentation or a more intimate gathering, my goal is to leave you with a renewed sense of purpose and connection.

I wrote a Memoir–and now I’m scared. It feels strange to admit that out loud, I am afraid my story isn’t “big” enough. It’s not

The book is filled with personal stories that highlight the grit, grace, and love that shape families. From tales of struggle to moments of joy, it reflects the essence of what it means to honor and remember those who came before us.

"Out here, surrounded by mountains and trees, I remember that peace isn’t something we chase; it’s something we return to. We spend so much of life trying to figure out what will finally bring us peace–when I get this fixed, when I can finally slow down, when I retire, then I’ll find peace. But the truth is peace isn’t waiting at the end of some future milestone. It’s something I am committed to protect and nurture right now. It lives in the quiet moments, when I pray or meditate, in familiar places–in the company of nature and the people I love."
